Knots of Hope

You stand in the corner; struggling life

hiding behind a curtain,

yielding a knife.

Can you be certain?

Telling me you’re okay,

you are staying afloat,

and you’re not going away.

Yet, you started the note.

I’ll be your shoulder for crying,

I’ll be your rope;

The one you’re tying.

I’ll be your greatest hope.

I knock on the door

Feeling things aren’t right

Yet once again your swore

Things were alright.

I crashed the party you made.

Anger flashed in your eyes,

I know you’re afraid

and your heart cries.

I’ll be your shoulder for crying,

I’ll be your rope;

The one you’re tying.

I’ll be your greatest hope.

Please let me be!
